Ministry of Defence and the Writers’ Union have a cooperation program, according to which they must organize activities aimed at the moral, military, patriotic, cultural, ideological education of soldiers.

The proximity of literature and army is dictated by life and has its reasons. What is literature? – The movement of the soul. What is the army? – The force that protects the homeland from the enemy. Does strength need the presence of the soul? – Sure.

I think that the writer – the defender of man, and the soldier – the defender of the motherland and the world, both in the days of peace and in times of war must act together.

Recently, Sergey Karapetyan, the grandson of Major General Sergey Karapetyan, commander of the 46th division of the Soviet Union, visited the newspaper “Armenian soldiers”.

Public Council at the RA Defense Minister with its diverse and bulk work constantly promotes effective interaction between society and the army. From year to year it becomes more and more tangible the involvement of the Council in the recruitment process, evidenced by the fivefold increase in application-complaints addressed to the Commission on applications-complaints from citizens.
On 1340 complaints 876 petitions were presented to the authorities on the basis of which 211 decisions on fitness of conscript to military service were reviewed. 34 application-complaints regarding legal issues and the family circumstances were satisfied.

Samvel Beglaryan is a member of the Unions of Writers, Journalists and Actors, chairman of Tavush branch of the Union of Writers of Armenia. He was the founder of the first group of self-defense of Noyemberian, participated in the actions of self-defense of Barekamavan, Kochi, Voskevan, Voskepar, Kirants, native village Baghanis. He was awarded a number of departmental medals and diplomas. Many of his works were written during the war years. Collection of poems dedicated to the army, the soldiers and the homeland in 2015 has been awarded a joint prize of the Union of Writers and the Ministry of Defense.

5 months ago, my son was recruited into the army. And finally there was the opportunity to visit his military unit. My daughter and I arrived there in the evening. We were received like family, provided a place to sleep. I was very inspired with the friendly attitude of the command to the parent of a soldier. I was delighted: so here they know the value of a soldier, respect him.
