Zohrab Yeganyan on his FB-page wrote about small feat of ordinary soldier who serves in Artsakh.
“Yesterday we met with the commander of the border military unit, and he told us an interesting case that expresses morale in today’s Army.
In early August, when the Azeris carried out the first acts of sabotage and we got our first loss, one soldier of the military unit N had to go on a 10-day vacation. His family members were already waiting for him. However, in the morning the soldier came to the commander and refused to leave, saying that “at this moment I can not leave the guys and go to a safe place”.

Helping hand of philanthropist Vaheh Badalyan to the families of perished this year soldiers, was a manifestation of an unprecedented cooperation and goodwill.
On December 23 Vaheh Badalyan on the board of the Union of Volunteers Yerkrapah (UVY) made a patriotic initiative, and provided with 1 million drams to the relatives of soldiers who gave their lives defending our country. V.Badalyan assured that this program will continue.

At the initiative of the NKR Defense Army Command and with the assistance of RA Ministry of Defense, in 2014 about 1500 servicemen, who manifested themselves well during the service, got a surprise vacation. In all regional centers of Armenia meetings were held with parents and the NKR AoD command. The goal of these activities is to strengthen the relationship between the army and society. A series of such events of this year was completed in the capital of Armenia.

On the order of Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan under the aegis of the Public Council by the Defense Minister, a special Commission is formed to consider applications and complaints of the citizens. Defense Minister’s Advisor, Chairman of Public Council Gegham Harutyunyan is appointed as Head of the Commission.

Students of Yerevan State College No.1 now are happy to participate in classes of basic military training – BMT. By immediate efforts of the Defense Minister’s Adviser, Lieutenant-General Muraz Sargsyan BMT class was renovated. In turn, the Ministry of Defense has taken care of scientific and technical equipment of the classroom.

With the assistance of philanthropists from the Diaspora, RA armed forces received 8 German shepherds to help protecting the safety of the north-eastern parts of the country. At our borders we already have 10 purebred shepherds – border guards.
