MEETING IN RA MOD MILITARY POLICE

On October 26, in the Military Police (MP) conference hall a meeting was conducted on the results of work done during 9 months of 2012. Deputy Defense Minister A.Nazaryan, Deputy Minister of Sports & Youth Issues Kh.Aseryan, MP departments’ heads and staff participated in the meeting.
Summarizing the meeting’s results Defense Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of the joint work with regiments command, help and support to them which would raise the efficiency of operational tasks implementation.

“WE BUILD AND RENOVATE ALL THE TIME”

According to the “Armed forces capital construction and troops housing program”, the capital construction is aimed at optimization of military settlements and construction of new buildings. This year two military settlements’ construction will be completed. In one of the north-west regiments we have built a barrack, and construction of a canteen and a boiler house is in the process. We build barracks, store-houses, parking, bathhouse, storage for medicines, in Vanadzor we build a depot, training objects – in shooting grounds and training ground. We asphalt drill ground, renovate roofs.

ARMENIAN PEACEKEEPERS PASSED ON THEIR EXPERIENCE AND MASTERY TO THEIR OCST COLLEAGUES

On October 17 in the firing ground Iliysk (near Almaty, Kazakhstan) the first joint OCST peacekeeping exercises “Indestructible Brotherhood – 2012” completed.
The subject of the exercises was to prepare and conduct operations for preserving peace by the OCST Collective Peacekeeping Troops in the collective security region.

HOW WITHSTAND THE ENEMY

On October 1st the beforehand declared strategic command-staff exercises started in the Army of Defense during which it was stipulated to do troops packaging from the reserve, to take the troops to the central districts and conduct tactical exercises with combat firing.
Army of Defense Operational Preparation Department Head V.Nersisyan mentioned that “so called “combat” was managed accurately, sub-units acted quickly and purposefully. I’d mention the soldiers’ devotion and efforts. Well done! I’m satisfied”.

EXERCISES RESULTS SUMMARIZED

On October 15 RA AF GS Combat Preparation Department Head Major General Ishkhan Matevosyan, Operative Department Head Major General Artak Davtyan and RA MoD Press-Secretary Artsroun Hovanisyan met with journalists.
Press-conference’s main subject was the results of large-scale military functions: in September CSTO “Interaction-2012” exercises were conducted in Armenia, from 1-13 October – command-staff exercises where reserve servicemen were also included.

COMMAND-STAFF COURSES PROGRAM BEING DEVELOPED

In the framework of RA AF reforms a new personnel policy has been conducted. For the more effective organization of the command staff’s formation a command-staff courses program is being developed and a command-staff military academy creation is intended.
The first course will be organised in Armenia in 2013, the second one – in 2014, and in 2015 on this basis it is stipulated to set up a military academy. Duration of the course is 1 year. Academic trainings will make 70%, practical – 30%.

SECURE SERVICE

The first guarantee for the elevation of combat-readiness and operational readiness level of the Armed Forces which are destined by the defense reforms, is discipline, and considerable progress is observed in this sphere. The rise of legal awareness (recognition of own rights, duties and responsibility) also stimulated military service security. Quarters’ construction and improvement of soldiers’ social conditions are one of the significant achievements of the 2008-2012 stage. There is a progress also in the sphere of interpersonal attitudes.
