DEFENDING  HOME, LAND, HOMELAND

The personnel of the unit under the command of Col Vazgen Hakobyan is lined up on the parade ground. Practical trainings had been held with the troops that are taking combat duty.

HIDDEN BEAUTY OF THE ARMY

In many armies of the world, there are no restrictions to serve for women. The female servicemen of the Armenian Armed Forces are no exception, they perform complex training tasks, serve on the front lines and as part of a special unit.

SOUTHERN BORDER

This combat position is low, in the rocks. Those carrying out service here are conscripts who are extremely experienced. They have also accumulated experience on-site in daily training, and drills.

SEVEN SONS FOR THE ARMY

Artsakh war veteran Sargis Brutyan has 12 children: seven sons and five daughters. His wife, Anahit Hovakimyan, sent seven sons to the army to defend various parts of the front line.

THE TOUGH GUYS

There are those units whose training takes into consideration the adverse weather conditions. The Special Forces crews waited for the cold winter days before climbing the mountaines in low visibility and subzero temperatures. The warm winter weather is not to their liking.

THE DEFENDERS OF THE LAND THAT SMELLS LIKE LAVASH

We are in the southwestern border of the republic, in the frontier section of the military unit under the command of LT Col Harutyun Nalbandyan. Just a few years ago, there were short position combats. In some areas, the enemy attempted to conduct position-strengthening engineering works, but the Armenian forces derailed those plans.

STANDING READY TO ACCOMPLISH THEIR TASKS

The drill alarm roars sounds in the unit. A few seconds later, the troops stand in line. Tactical trainings are under way: the goal is to improve the skills of the personnel.
