PROSPECTS OF CO-OPERATION IN THE MILITARY EDUCATION SECTOR

On 9 September a meeting between the Head of ARM MoD Personnel and Military Education Department, Mher Shirinyan, Head of ARM MoD Defence Policy Department, Levon Ayvazyan and vice-rector of the Command Institute of the People’s Liberation Army of PRC, Major General Go Yandun was held at the administrative building of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia.

PRESIDENT S.SARGSYAN’S CONGRATULATION MESSAGE ON NAGORNO-KARABAKH REPUBLIC’S INDEPENDENCE DAY

Dear compatriots,
I congratulate you on Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’s Independence Day!
Artsakh people have done their historical choice. They defended their freedom and got it in the cruelest war at a price of heaviest losses. Artsakhian voted for his independence not only during the referendum but also during his nationwide self-defense.

COURSE AND PERSPECTIVES OF INTERNATIONAL MILITARY COOPERATION

Relations with Russian Federation started in 1992, when diplomatic relations were established between RA and RF, afterwards agreements were signed: on March 16, 1995 “On Russian military base on the territory of RA” and on August 29, 1997 “On friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance” which gave strategic character to this relations.

LIBERATED TERRITORIES – GUARANTEE OF ARTSAKH’S WATER SECURITY

These days Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov has sent a protest-note to the UN General Secretary. There he informs that Armenia sets up in Artsakh new settlements, renovates airport and infrastructure, changes geographical names, intends to build 150 houses in Kubatly region, as well as road Vardenis-Karvachar. Besides Armenia populates Artsakh with Syrian Armenians: in Kashatagh region have been already settled 24 families, in Zangelan – 7, Karvachar – 27.

COURSE AND PERSPECTIVES OF INTERNATIONAL MILITARY COOPERATION

International military cooperation is one of the most important instruments of defense policy. On multisided and two-side surfaces of this sphere the Defense Ministry pursuits two basic aims. First aim – development of defense system introducing leading international experience, second – create international guarantees to ensure security of Armenia.

Because of the war actions in the Karabakh conflict zone almost 1000 citizens of RA and NKR are considered as missing, 400 of them are citizens of Armenia. Among them are peaceful people and soldiers. These data were presented by Head of “Relatives of missing people council” NGO Rimma Arakelyan during the briefing on April 11. According to her information, from 1000 missing 90 are alive.

TALISH JINGLES

According to some data, Talishes are 3 mln, and 1,5-2 mln live in the southern zone of Azerbaijan Republic. Our programs are broadcasted from Shoushi and cover the southern and northern territories of Talishstan. Our waves are also aimed at living in Azerbaijan Talishes where their culture and language are violated, and they are now in front of the threat of disappearance. Our programs are on northern and central Talish dialects as well as on Azeri language since some part of Talish people have forgotten their language bur still preserve their national identity.
