Head of Information and propaganda department of the NKR Army of Defense, Lt.Colonel Senor Hasratyan published a big volume in Armenian, Russian and English «Army of Defense of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic» dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the liberation of Shoushi and formation of the Army of Defense.
The book distinguishes with its beautiful design and structural content, has rich factual material with substantial, logical statement.

It is about Hovanisyan brothers – Samson, Levon and Taron from village Zaritap of Vayots Dzor region.
When Samson did M.A. in Yerevan State University History Department and was to be recruited, and Levon graduated from Yerevan Polytechnical University Cybernetics Department and was to be recruited too, Taron, 2nd year student of Oriental Studies Department of YSU decided to serve in the army voluntarily simultaneously with his brothers.

There was a solemn awarding ceremony in Stepanavan Mayor’s office. Region’s Military Commissar Lt.Colonel Spartak Ghubatyan, on the order of RA President, awarded posthumously soldier Aznavur Arakelyan, presenting Combat service medal to his parents.

Armenian sambo federation under the high patronage of Defense Minister S.Ohanyan conducted in Yerevan the 4th International Championship on Sambo, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of USSR twice hero, legendary pilot Nelson Stepanayan.
On August 3rd the solemn function was held where prime Minister T.Sargsyan, Defense Minister S.Ohanyan, high-ranking servicemen and guests were present.

20 years ago these days Artsakh went through hard but heroic days. In the second half of June our volunteer forces, having successfully fulfilled combat tasks in the Nothern front, had already occupied some strategic heights and approached Martakert which was in prison almost a year.

On June 29 on the occasion of the Missing Liberation Warriors’ Memory Day Arm MoD and AF GF authorities, members of the Public Council by the Defense Minister, of the Governmental Commission on captives, hostages and missing persons, missing persons relatives, Artsakh war veterans and NGO representatives visited Yerabloor Pantheon, laid flowers and wreath on the memorial dedicated to the perished and missing liberation warriors of the Artsakh war, took part in holy ritual by RA AF spiritual head Father Vrtanes.
