ARMENIA PARTICIPATED IN THE NATO CONFERENCE ON CARTOGRAPHY



On October 3-7 in the framework of the NATO program “Partnership for Peace” in the Swiss city of Tun a Conference on Cartography, Measurement and Geodesy was organized. 16 countries took part in the Conference, among the CIS countries – only Armenia and Moldova. The aim of the Conference was the profound cooperation of civil and military institutions of this sphere.

According to Colonel Gevorg Manoukyan, head of the Armenian delegation the Conference was a wonderful opportunity to learn the contemporary methods and direction of development of military-topographic services of developed countries. “Today paper maps are replaced with digital maps”, – mentioned G.Manoukyan.

Google Company representatives also took part in the Conference. They showed the participants the new 3D map developed by them.
