INEXORABLE STRUGGLE FOR HEALTH OR HOW FRONTLINE DOCTORS SAVED LIVES

Mehakavan military hospital of north-east direction is just in a few kilometers from the place of military actions. Here serve our best doctors. This is no exaggeration. All the wounded were rescued, no deaths were registered.

The war showed that our doctors are well aware of their work

Commander of the separate medical unit of Mekhakavan, traumatologist- orthopedist, Colonel Vahan Voskanyan tells.

– The staff was ready for war. When we were informed about the situation, we immediately formed groups, and ambulances drove towards the wounded. Doctors were on the most hot spots, they were taking out the wounded from the battlefield. Injuries were mainly from the mine explosion and gunfire. In general, we were provided with everything necessary. The war showed that our doctors are well aware of their work. I would like to thank all the medical personnel, and volunteer doctors also, who arrived. Within a few hours doctor-war veteran Taron Tonoyan arrived. He was conducting surgeries and one – just exceptional, he saved the life of a soldier. During operations next to me was my friend, doctor of St. Mary Medical Center Andranik Serobyan. His psychological support, counseling helped us a lot.

Laboratory provided effective work of doctors

Head of Laboratory of separate medical unit of Mehakavan, m / s Captain Eleonora Shahinyan told that the laboratory is equipped with modern equipment for biochemical analysis, X-ray.

– Everything worked out well, but I want to note nurse Venera Safaryan and Christina Nersisyan. Although there was a very strong tension, but there was no panic. Doctors have expressed the same will, as well as officers and soldiers in the battlefield.

Medical assistance – under incessant fire

Head of the medical center of the military regiment on north-east direction, Senior Lieutenant Yeranik Hambardzumyan and doctor, Lieutenant Ara Gokoryan organized the evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield, first aid, rescuing.

– The four-day war for us, young doctors, was a heavy, responsible trial period, and these days the soldier believed and trusted us, – says Lieutenant Ara Gokoryan.
