On August 15, RA Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan met with the representatives of almost 130 NGO-s which unite warriors-liberators, as well as cooperate with the RA MoD. During the meeting issues both on expanding MoD-NGO cooperation and joint work were discussed.

On August 15, 1st Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia, Davit Tonoyan, left for Moscow on a working visit and had several meetings with General Secretary of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Nikolay Bordyuzha and Secretary of Council of CIS Defense Ministers, Alexander Sinayskiy.

On August 19, in the military units of the national army officially started this year’s second – summer training period.
Military unit’s (commander Major General Ishkhan Matevosyan) Head of staff Colonel A.Piloyan reported Head of RA AF GS Colonel General Youriy Khachatourov on the readiness of personnel for the solemn event. Head of RA AF GS congratulated the servicemen with the beginning of educational year and presented recent military and political events in the modern world.

In the reference point we met company commander Captain Arthur Arakelyan and point’s sergeant major Gevorg Margaryan. Here, at a distance of up to 1000m several strongholds of the enemy are placed. From the enemy’s side every day gunshots are heard. No movement of the enemy escapes from the attention of our observers. About any noticed movement, according to the order, they immediately report to the command. One of the advantages of our guys is the harsh discipline.

During the Artsakh war near the Armenian volunteers fought also women. One of them is Angela Nanagulyan (from Jraberd). In 1992 she joined the volunteers group “Maghavuz”. Angela is a Chevalier of “For Courage” medal, a member of the Writers’ Union of Nagorno Karabakh Republic.

Tension of the last days at the border, zone of contact with the enemy, made soldiers more vigilant and mature. They began to show solidarity. They are encouraged by the brave actions of their colleagues and at the same time miss the “missing” comrades, never losing morale for a moment. I.e. they are again ready to exploit. They are ready by their conduct and devotion to be worthy of the high rank of the Defender of the Motherland.
