On June 21st in Sardarapat Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan took part in a festival «Blacksmith Day» which was organized by ethno-historical NGO «Chilingaryan-Mamikonyan family». Besides Armenian blacksmiths’ works weapons of local production were also presented on the festival. The Minister noted with pleasure that local production sometimes has even an advantage over foreign production and mentioned that a concept is being developed for further development of the industry.

According to the organizers the function’s aim is return to the traditional craft, as well as to present local production. Blacksmithing – this is craft of not only war time, but also of peacetime. Both weapons and unique works of art were presented, and blacksmiths presented their skills in place, too.
