AIR BORDERS ARE SECURE

It is not a secret that Anti-aircraft defense (AAD) troops today are the most important and combat-ready sub-units of the national army. Yet during the Artsakh war and the 1st stage of the army building it was clear that we must have invulnerable AAD system.

Colonel S.Grigoryan is one of the experienced and famous specialists of the system. In 2012 the united control centre under his command twice was recognized as the best in arm and twice was honoured with flag of honour.

COMBAT DUTY

– Our regiment has an important contribution in general progress of the army, – says Colonel S.Grigoryan. – Since 1999 regiment’s sub-units periodically participated in joint exercises of CIS AAD troops. The last time it was in September, 2011, when the regiment went to Ashuluk. Here the results were also high.

I’d say that security of our air space is valid. The regiment conducts 24-hour combat duty. All the issues are resolved on time with the civil aviation.

The divisions are equipped with rocket complexes C-300 and C-125, there are also “Igla” and AAD cannons. Technical service of C-300 and C-125 is fully done by our specialists. More than 90% of essential means of service are provided by our factories. Communication between control centres of divisions and the regiment is very reliable since modern communication means have been implemented.
